Messmer-Brewers Team-up for Kids

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jeff Suppan and his wife, Dana, returned to Milwaukee to host a holiday party on Saturday, December 8. The party for 200 children from St. Rose and St. Leo Catholic Urban Academies, now part of Messmer Catholic Schools, was held at Miller Park. The Suppans picked up all the costs of the holiday celebration, held on the Club Level of the ballpark. |

“Dana and I have been very fortunate and blessed in life and we are happy to be able to give back to the community in this way,” said Brewers pitcher Jeff Suppan. “We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the holiday season than to do so with a group of children here in Milwaukee.” |
Br. Bob Smith, President of Messmer Catholic Schools, joined the gathering as a special guest and offerred a message to the children. "The Suppans are truly giving back and building others up in our community," said Br. Smith. "Mr. and Mrs. Suppan care about making sure you have the tools, such as books and supplies, to encourage learning not only at school, but at home as well," Smith continued. |

Buses transported the students to Miller Park where they enjoyed lunch, met Jeff and Dana Suppan and received holiday gifts including a specially-made backpack with Jeff’s autograph and uniform number and the team logo. Bernie Brewer and the World Famous Klement’s Racing Sausages even made an appearance at the party. |
The Suppans’ community efforts are made possible through their annual contribution to Brewers' Charities, the official charity of the Milwaukee Brewers.
